The following Google error

After four years of quietly trying to take on Wikipedia Google ,(Nasdaq) is shutting down Knol. The world's leading search engine advises contributors to the new destinations that it would shut down the site in May

"Google's good chance," I argued shortly after launch. "Wikipedia anonymity and ad-free design of the pious, but some authors need better incentives."

See, unlike live up and constantly tweaked encyclopedia, Google gives authors the ability to both claim their contributions and to make a little money by allowing the big g to place ads on their pages. It have to work. Google AdSense monetization Program has helped the success of third party websites are countless as the dot-com juggernaut's own Blogger and YouTube publishing platform.

For starters, there's already when Google launched its website Knol.com. It is the name of the company that has provided the Netherlands cleaning solutions since 1969. Google stuck with Knol–units of knowledge–and only saved as a subsite on knol.google.com purposes. It's safe to say that Wikipedia wouldn't be hit today if it was just a subdomain with its Web addresses that are difficult.

Google has also been really promoting the site. It's not as if Knol results ranked higher than Wikipedia entry Google site itself. Outside of the early contributors, most Internet users might not even know that there's a Knol.
